What is this service?
A registered instrument creating a mortgage over immovable property.
A registered mortgage deed formally charges immovable property as security for a loan. Where the lender or law requires a registered mortgage, the deed must be stamped, executed and registered at the Sub-Registrar Office. Many home loans instead use an equitable mortgage by deposit of title deeds, which follows a different process - see the Memorandum of Deposit of Title Deeds service.
